Patrick D. Thornton, Esq., serves as the Executive Vice President and Managing Attorney for Phenix’s operations in Maine. His career journey began in 1997 as a receptionist for Northeast Land Title, swiftly advancing to roles in processing, closing, and abstracting. A lifelong Mainer, Patrick pursued law school, graduating cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2007. While in law school, he served as the Research Editor of the Maine Law Review and studied abroad at the National University of Ireland at Galway.
After graduation, Patrick embarked on a career as a transactional attorney and litigator specializing in real estate matters. He initially practiced at an established firm in Portland, Maine, before founding his own firm. Throughout his career, Patrick has appeared in Maine District, Superior, and Probate Courts, as well as the Federal District Court, District of Maine, and the Maine Supreme Court, conducting thousands of real estate closings. His extensive experience in titles, closings, and real estate law led him to rejoin many of his former colleagues at Phenix Title in 2018.
Patrick enjoys spending time on local golf courses outside of work. He lives in Portland with his fiancée, Emelia.
